How do adverb modify verbs, other adverbs and adjectives?

Adverbs usually are pretty easy. They almost always end with "ly" and they tell about the verb. Words like quickly, easily, softly, rapidly, slowly-- they all describe the verb. I don't think "never" in your example is an adverb. Anyway, look for the "ly" words.
