XBOX 360 rings are blinking red? HELP!?

the three rings on my xbox 360 are blinking red? ive gone to the FAQ it didnt help im sending it back here in a couple days but when i turn it on it will stay on then make a couple clicking sounds the lights will blink and it will turn off? help
