Highland Games in Scotland, summer 2011?

We are going to the UK at the end of June/first of July. I thought it would be interesting to go to the Highland Games. However in researching things, I can't really get a feel for whether these are a good thing for tourists like us to go to. Has anyone been and can provide info?
