Christians (specifically Baptists): A question regarding Communion?

The Apostle Paul says that when you have unconfessed sin in your heart and join the Lord's supper, you're taking judgment on yourself. What if the guy "confessed" like, "Yeah, sure, I did it." But isn't truly sorry (and EVEN PROUD) he did it? Like...no regrets or anything like that. Can he still partake? 'Cause I saw a...former friend of mine...reach out and take a Communion cup and Host when the Elements were being ped around.
