Can you use carburetor cleaner spray to clean brake dust out of a brake drum?

i know that it is flammable and i will have to let the drum dry out. just curious if it will be safe after it does dry out or does it leave behind any chemical residue that i should be aware of. took the car apart to bleed and adjust the brakes and there is some brake dust build up in there. just want to be safe and not have to put the car back together just to go get some brake cleaner. thanks for your answers
